How this works

A course load fits your life or it doesn’t, and the honest way to tell is to count the hours. A week holds 168 of them. Enter the ones already spoken for—sleep, work, commuting, caregiving, and the ordinary business of being a person—then the credits you’re weighing. Using the common rule of about 3 hours per credit per week (class time plus study), the chart stacks it all and shows what’s left. When the study block pushes the week past 168, it turns striped: that’s the plan telling you something has to give.

The note reads out a sustainable credit range—how many credits your free hours can carry while leaving a buffer for the weeks that don’t go to plan. A few honest caveats: real workloads vary by course, with labs and writing often running higher, so treat the estimate as a floor; and this plans time, not money or energy. It’s a reality check on whether a load fits, not advice on how many credits to take. Your inputs are saved in this browser only.
