Skills Gap Mapper
Map the distance between your skills and the job you want.
How this works
Pull a real job posting for the work you want and list the skills it actually asks for—not what you think a field wants, but the specific lines in the ad. Rate yourself on each from 0 to 3, honestly. The map then sorts every skill into one of three columns, because the move to close a gap depends on which kind of gap it is.
Learn (0 to 1) are true gaps: pick the one or two that matter most and close them with a short course and a small project, not an entire new degree. Prove (2) means you can do it but nothing shows it—the work there is evidence, a portfolio piece or a resume line with a result. Translate (3) are strengths, often carried in from another field, that you should lead with. The ratings are your own read against one posting, not a test, so re-rate as you grow—the map updates as you do. Your list is saved in this browser only.
